Leveraging Clinical Resources to Enhance Training Programs for the Next Generation of Physicians

The affiliation between University Hospitals and Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) significantly enhances opportunities to expand clinical training and collaboration throughout University Hospitals. This partnership provides clerkship experiences for 3rd year NEOMED medical students and improves access and exposure to our clinical services and resources for NEOMED students and faculty which will help us meet current and future healthcare needs.

The long-term aim is to help medical students gain more clinical experience and recognize the wealth of resources associated with patient care, housestaff training and ultimately professional careers at University Hospitals.

Beyond the core clinical clerkships for 3rd year students other opportunities exist for medical students to participate in basic and clinical research, 4th year clinical electives, public health programs, and other aspects of medicine that are key in the delivery of health care.
