Site Coordinator and Medical Student Liaison

The Site Coordinator is primarily responsible for the onboarding of medical students completing their clerkships at University Hospitals. This includes badging, Epic training, scheduling, scrub access, first-day reporting information, and many other behind-the-scenes tasks. The Site Coordinator serves as the primary contact prior to and during the clerkship to ensure a smooth onboarding process and answer any questions that may arise, to ensure that the students are receiving the most comprehensive educational experience. Our goal is to foster successful students on their journey to becoming successful residents.

In addition to the NEOMED Site Coordinator, students will have the support of NEOMED Student Liaison. Acting as a liaison between Northeast Ohio Medical University and the clinical site, the student liaison is responsible for enhancing relationships among faculty, students, and clinical partners within the clinical site. The liaison will meet with students during each clerkship to answer any questions and provide necessary guidance.

NEOMED Student Lounge at University Hospitals

The NEOMED Student Lounge at the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center provides students with a quiet atmosphere in which to relax, recharge, and study. Located at 218 Wearn in a secure area of the UH Research Institute, the furnished lounge includes four desktop computers, lockers, a refrigerator, and private space to take a break or to work in between classes or clinical rotations. The lounge offers an alternative to more crowded resident lounges at the hospital. Students have been known to nap, store their lunches, prepare presentations, work on UWorld questions, and review patient information while spending time in this welcoming space.
